DIY – Replace Your Laptop’s Thermal Paste for Better Cooling

 In time, the thermal paste in between your CPU/GPU and your heat sink dries up leading to overheating.  

The safe way of replacing it is as follows:

The equipment required:
driver, thermal paste, alcohol cleaning material, soft cloth.  

Steps:  

Switch off and undo the lap top.  

Take out the back panel to get at the cooling fan.  

Unscrew and gently take off heatsink.  

Clean pastes using alcohol.  

Use a pea sized amount of fresh thermal paste.  

Reinstall heat sink, screws.

Hint: To get the best performance, do every 2-3 years.
